Triple assessment for a fast and accurate diagnosis

Our One Stop Breast Clinic in Maidstone includes a ‘triple assessment’ screening process to make sure you get a quick and accurate diagnosis. This includes:

    • 1. A consultation with a leading specialist breast surgeon. We have male and female surgeons, so please let us know if you have a preference
    • 2. Breast imaging, if required, including ultrasound and/or mammogram
    3. A biopsy (where a tiny sample of tissue is taken for analysis) if needed

Imaging and diagnostic procedures


We use the very latest diagnostic tests, including :

  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast biopsy
  • Digital mammograms, including tomosynthesis (3D higher resolution) mammograms
  • Fine-needle aspiration cytology (to investigate lumps or masses in the breast)
  • A full breast genetic testing service to assess your genetic risk
  • Routine and specialised blood tests if required
  • Stereotactic biopsy


Also available at our Centre in Windsor, if needed we offer:

  • MRI breast and full body screening.
  • Detailed whole-body PET-CT scanning if needed.


Your imaging, mammogram and ultrasound results are available on the same day. And, if your consultant needs to take a biopsy, the results are usually available within five working days. Genetic testing takes a little longer – we’ll explain how this works if you would benefit from the test.
