Breast cancer awareness
1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer over their lifetime
We know that early detection is key for breast cancer survival and completing a breast self-examination as part of your routine helps to ensure you’re breast aware and can seek advice as early as possible if you spot anything unusual. This breast cancer awareness month join our #notmy8 challenge and grab life by the breasts! We want to encourage you to check yourself and motivate (at least) 8 of your family and friends to do the same. The more women we can motivate to make this part of their regular routine, the better.
Help us raise breast cancer awareness by following the three easy steps below:
Watch our GenesisCare breast examination video guidance to check your breasts
Raise awareness and share the video, tagging 8 of your family or friends to motivate them to check their breasts too
Include the hashtag #notmy8
Importance of early detection
Early detection is key for breast cancer survival, so we want to encourage as many women as possible to check their breasts regularly and investigate any concerns they may have as soon as possible.
If you discover a lump or change in your breasts, it’s important to get checked as soon as possible. Go to your GP or you can book an investigation, including a mammogram, and discussion of the findings with a senior breast surgeon on the same day at one of GenesisCare’s One Stop Breast Clinics. As the UK’s leading private provider of cancer care, if you need further tests or treatment, then you’re in the right place at GenesisCare.
We understand a breast concern can be worrying, and for the majority of people it turns out to be nothing serious. We can help you get the answers you need, without delay.
