Diagnostic pathway

Patients have a face-to-face or telehealth consultation (via telephone or online) with one of our expert skin consultants. If required, they will have a biopsy and follow-up test, which may include an ultrasound or CT scan. Results from the biopsy are available within three weeks. In the event of a cancer diagnosis, patients will undergo a full case review by the GenesisCare multidisciplinary team via an eMDT if required. They will agree further assessment and treatment. Patients with an alternate diagnosis will be treated appropriately within a GenesisCare partner hospital.

Treatment

Depending on the diagnosis, patients with certain conditions can start treatment on the same day. Any necessary private prescriptions will also be supplied. Following a cancer diagnosis and competition of all investigative procedures, radiotherapy treatment will be planned to start within one to two weeks. If the cancer is close to sensitive areas such as the eyes, nose or mouth, patients will have a custom-made mask created from our stale-of-the-art handheld sur1ace scanner and 3D printing technology.
