2022 fundraising initiatives

2022 fundraising initiatives

We’re excited to launch our 2022 fundraising initiatives to support our wellbeing partner and national charity, Penny Brohn UK. Together we see the devastating impact that cancer has on lives and understand the importance of treating the whole patient, not just their cancer.

Penny Brohn UK provides free support and wellbeing services to everyone with cancer, from reflexology and acupuncture to emotional support and nutritional advice. We want to raise vital funds so that they can help even more people with cancer.

To get this year’s fundraising off to a good start we are introducing GenesisCare Charity Champions to help co-ordinate activities and events across our centres. Individuals have volunteered to lead and promote all of our fundraising events and activities. We are so proud of all our staff who always go above and beyond to get involved and help make a difference to people with cancer.

Activities planned

Here are just a few of the exciting events that are happening this year:

  • Justin Hely, General Manager, UK, is taking on the immense challenge of cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats in September 2022
  • Sam Lewis and Sam Newton, two of our amazing Penny Brohn UK Wellbeing Consultants from our centres in Southampton and Chelmsford are taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge
  • Many staff participate in our annual stepping challenge to walk 10,000 steps per day for the month of April and we’re looking forward to seeing lots of our teams join in this activity over the coming weeks
  • Our IT team are raising funds for our charity partner, Penny Brohn UK, whilst also supporting a more sustainable environment. Following a data erasure certified process, our old IT equipment is either reused or sold to generate funds. So far they’ve raised £5748, which will help the charity support more patients with cancer.
