Safeguarding Statement

GenesisCare are committed to providing services that promote the safety and well-being of all those accessing our services. We ensure that there are processes, policies and governance arrangements in place that protect children, young people and adults that are at risk from harm, abuse, or neglect. We recognise that safeguarding is a shared responsibility for staff, patients, families, carers and visitors and we all have a part to play.

To fulfil our responsibilities to safeguard we:

  • Endorse and follow safeguarding legislation and national guidelines
  • Review policies regularly to ensure that they are robust and up to date and aligned to statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Mandate regular safeguarding training for all staff relevant to their role
  • Have processes in place to facilitate staff to escalate safeguarding concerns
  • Promote a culture where staff feel confident to raise concerns and access whistleblowing or ‘speaking up’ processes
  • Report safeguarding incidents on our Quality Management System which are reviewed by the Safeguarding Committee to promote good practice and identify learning
  • Carry out safeguarding audits to ensure compliance with GenesisCare safeguarding policies and promote continuous improvement
  • Recognise our duty to work with the local authority, police and other agencies to safeguard all
  • Ensure information is shared appropriately and lawfully with relevant agencies when required to protect individuals from harm.
  • We have designated Safeguarding Leads and a Safeguarding Committee that oversee governance, compliance, and continual improvement
  • Follow safe recruitment practices, including appropriate pre-employment checks, to ensure staff are suitable to work with vulnerable groups
