Mr. Sergey Tadtayev is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with his NHS practice at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and private practice in Surrey and West London.
He graduated with distinction from Kharkov State Medical University, Ukraine, in 2002. He subsequently completed his Foundation and Core Surgical Training in East Anglia. Mr. Tadtayev undertook specialist Urology training in the North Thames region and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2017. His senior training was completed in the Departments of Urology at the Royal Free and Royal Marsden Hospitals in London. He then undertook a post-CCT Robotic Fellowship in Renal Cancer at Frimley Park Hospital.
Mr. Sergey Tadtayev was awarded a Ph.D. in 2007 for his research in experimental pathology. He has published and presented nationally and internationally on a broad range of urological topics and is currently a co-investigator in clinical trials in prostate cancer. His research interests include prostate cancer diagnostics, kidney cancer treatment, and the intersection of sleep medicine and urology. Patient experience and the delivery of high-quality care are central to his practice. At Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, he serves as the Urology Clinical Governance Lead.
Mr. Tadtayev offers advanced prostate diagnostics and procedures to support the delivery of prostate radiotherapy, including fiducial marker insertion and rectal spacer placement. He performs laser treatment of bladder tumours and undertakes robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgery for kidney cancer. In addition to providing subspecialist service in Uro-oncology, Mr Tadtayev offers the full spectrum of general urology care.
I chose urology for its blend of technical precision and deeply personal care. While I genuinely enjoy the craft and challenge of surgery, I find it most rewarding to understand each patient — their priorities, concerns and goals — and to tailor treatment to the individual. Urology’s breadth, spanning oncology, functional urology and reconstruction, allows constant cross-pollination of ideas, making it an endlessly rewarding speciality.
