Qamar Ghafoor qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2002. He trained in the West Midlands and was appointed as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at University Hospital Birmingham in 2011. He is also a visiting consultant to Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Qamar specialises in the treatment of lung and skin cancers with systemic agents and radiotherapy. He has been the pioneer in the development of the 4-dimensional and stereotactic lung radiotherapy service in the Midlands. He leads the lung SABR and thoracic Cyberknife regional MDT and has published widely in this eld, in addition to presenting at international conferences. Furthermore, he is an honorary lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He is actively involved in ongoing research and is the principle investigator for a number of national clinical trials.
