GenesisCare signs new 4 year contract with Bupa

GenesisCare signs new 4 year contract with Bupa

GenesisCare extends its provision of world-class cancer diagnosis, treatment and care to Bupa’s UK health insurance customers with a new four-year deal.

GenesisCare – the UK’s leading private cancer care provider, has signed a new four-year agreement with Bupa, the UK’s leading healthcare insurance provider.  The confirmed partnership renewal, which runs until August 2027, will see both organisations working to expand the provision of both radiotherapy and systemic therapy services for Bupa’s UK health insurance customers.

The new contract term, which reflects the strong working relationship between GenesisCare and Bupa, will prioritise a number of initiatives including the further development and expansion of Bupa’s Cancer Specialist Centres network.

Bupa first launched its network of Specialist Centres for breast cancer in 2019 and data shows they’re helping customers get a diagnosis and treatment much faster and at earlier stages. The Specialist Centres recently expanded to include bowel and prostate cancer. They provide customers with an outstanding customer experience and high-quality care, which includes access to breakthrough cancer drugs and treatments often before they’re available on the NHS.

GenesisCare’s CEO for UK and Europe, Justin Hely says: “We’re proud of our partnership with Bupa and look forward to further building on our key strategic priorities over the next four years. This includes our commitment to working together on expanding much-needed patient access to our specialist cancer care network, where we lead the way in delivering expert, personalised care and speed of access to tests, technology and treatment to aid quicker patient recovery and help save lives.”

Alex Perry, CEO for Bupa UK Insurance says: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with GenesisCare to deliver fast access to cancer care for our customers. Cancer cases are on in the rise in the UK - it’s estimated that by 2030, around 4 million people will be living with the disease. It’s vital that we continue innovating with our hospital partners to deliver life-changing improvements in cancer care through the further development of our Specialist Centres network.”

Both businesses are also committed to taking meaningful action on climate change and are setting targets to reduce their carbon emissions across all scopes. Bupa and GenesisCare are aligned in their goal to reach net zero emissions by 2040 and will collaborate closely to reduce their environmental impact.
