Special clinical interests in lung and gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Deme Karikios is a college accredited medical oncologist with an appointment as a staff specialist at Nepean Hospital. In 2019 he was awarded his PhD titled: Consequences of rising anticancer drug costs in Australia. My main areas of interest are gastrointestinal and thoracic malignancies, value of anticancer drugs, treatment decision making, preferences and financial toxicity. He hopes to positively influence health policy relating to cancer care and is dedicated to supervision of medical oncology trainees, supervision of research students and education of medical students.
