I am excited to offer cancer care services and support to patients from the Great Southern region. Patients have access to modern radiation treatment techniques provided by a highly skilled team of healthcare professionals. Our team work in partnership with the specialist cancer team in Albany to offer personalised cancer care close to home.
Services
GenesisCare, Albany offers access to evidence-based cancer care services including radiation therapy and allied health support.
The WA state government funded GenesisCare centre in Albany brings together a multidisciplinary team of passionate healthcare professionals, aiming to offer rapid access to consultation and treatment, delivered using advanced radiation therapy technology.
Patient care is managed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals with experience in oncology including: radiation oncologists, registered nurses, radiation therapists, physicists, and a dedicated team of support staff.
Patients can access doctors and allied healthcare professionals in a fit-for-purpose centre that integrates with the Albany Health Campus plus the public and private hospitals in the Great Southern region of WA.
Eligible patients treated at GenesisCare, Albany can be bulk-billed.* Accommodation and transport packages are available for eligible rural and remote patients.

Our treatments and services
Radiation oncology
Radiation therapy uses high energy X-rays or other particles to treat cancer and can be used at all stages. Radiation therapy techniques can include: Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT), Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and specialised non-surgical treatment for skin cancer.
Allied health services
At GenesisCare, Albany we offer you access to a range of Allied health services in collaboration with local providers - all tailored to support your needs. One of your treatment team will discuss the most suitable options with you. Support services offered may include:

Accommodation and travel packages
Rural travel and accommodation packages are available via PATS for patients travelling more than ~70kms. Please speak to your treatment team with regards to eligibility.
