Mr. Kasem is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon with a special interest in breast cancer and breast oncoplastic reconstruction surgery at the Medway NHS Foundation Trust and the London Breast Institute. Mr Kasem undertook his training at the at the Princess Royal University Hospital’s Oncoplastic Unit. He has also had the opportunity to gain further, valuable expertise and breast cancer management skills during an 18 month honorary secondment with the breast cancer oncoplastic surgery team at the Royal Marsden Hospital, at the South-East London Breast Cancer Screening at the King’s College University Hospital and as part of the oncoplastic surgery team at St Thomas’ Hospital. His oncoplastic surgical and breast reconstruction skills include breast reduction, breast mastopexy (uplift), breast augmentation (enlargement), breast lipomodelling and lipofilling with fat grafting, immediate and delayed breast reconstruction, nipple reconstruction and nipple tattooing. He also has an interest in open hernia repair surgery. Mr. Kasem has attended the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and many international breast surgery centres to expand his oncoplastic breast surgery skills. He is is on the specialist GMC register as an accredited consultant surgeon.
