New rapid access diagnostic services provide fast answers

Wednesday May 13th

At this challenging time we understand how essential it is for you to help your symptomatic patients and ensure they get the diagnosis they need as soon as possible. Our diagnostic services provide fast answers so that your patient knows the next step as soon as possible. We have recently extended our diagnostic capacity for urology and breast across our network with the latest diagnostic equipment and want to update you and your colleagues on the services available at our centres.

Rapid access urology diagnostics

Our UrologyHub  provides a single point of referral to a comprehensive pathway for diagnosis and treatment of a full range of male and female urological conditions. Symptomatic or concerned patients can be referred to the rapid access urology clinic where they will see a urologist with an appropriate specialism, together with any diagnostic investigations on the same day where clinically appropriate.

Further investigations and treatment can be delivered through pre-existing pathways. These encompass all urological cancers and include radiotherapy treatment protocols adapted to the COVID-19 situation.

One Stop Breast diagnostics

Our One Stop Breast Clinic is consultant-led and offers a same day, triple diagnostic assessment service to people concerned about their breasts. We use a full range of diagnostic modalities, including digital mammography, breast ultrasound, biopsy and progression to comprehensive diagnosis and breast cancer treatment if needed.

The GenesisCare breast service uses world-class clinical protocols and is designed around rapid access pathways that cover every stage from diagnosis to survivorship. During the COVID-19 outbreak we are providing a fully operational breast service, with modified treatment protocols for radiotherapy and chemotherapy to shorten treatment times where possible without compromising overall outcome.

To refer to our diagnostic services and clinics, or for any other enquiries, contact one of our centres directly.

 How to access

We are recognised by all the private health insurers for cancer treatment. A GP referral letter is usually required and we can support the patient’s application to ensure rapid approval and speedy access. For patients who wish to self-fund, diagnostic prices are available from the centre.

GenesisCare is the UK’s leading independent cancer treatment provider offering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and diagnostics. Our advanced and innovative treatments and techniques ensure we offer all our patients the best possible outcome.

All 14 of our specialist oncology outpatient centres remain open so we can continue to treat without delay and are able to accept new referrals for diagnostics, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We are operating a safe environment, with modified practices to protect patients and staff and many of our centres operate as stand-alone clinics. Find out more
