Special clinical interests in prostate, lung, skin, lymphoma and stereotactic radiation therapy.
Dr David Blakey graduated from Melbourne University in 1987, and completed his training in radiation oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in 1995. He was a consultant radiation oncologist at Peter Mac thereafter, and Director of Peter MacCallum’s satellite centre at Monash Moorabbin, before joining GenesisCare in 2006.
David has overseen the introduction of a number of technological advances in radiotherapy delivery at Frankston, including intensity modulated and image guided radiotherapy for prostate and other cancers, deep inspiration breath hold radiation therapy for breast cancer, and stereotactic brain and body radiotherapy.
The role of radiotherapy in benign disease (particularly Dupuytren’s disease of the hands).
