MR-Linac Radiation Therapy – an advanced radiation therapy treatment
GenesisCare is the first to introduce the Elekta Unity MR-Linac to New South Wales, the latest precision radiation therapy treatment option for patients. MR-Linac technology combines high resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques with extremely precise radiation therapy that can treat tumours more accurately than conventional radiation therapy. This can mean fewer treatment sessions, reduced side effects and a greater chance of an improved outcome.
This type of radiation therapy is called magnetic resonance image guided radiation therapy (MRIgRT).
Your personalised treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs and delivered by a dedicated care team consisting of specialised radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses and key support staff. As well as ensuring that you receive
the medical treatment you need as promptly as possible, we offer personalised wellbeing therapies to help support you through this challenging time.
After all, we are treating you – not just your cancer.
