“The addition of radiation therapy to the hospital’s existing cancer care services is a win for patients of the eastern suburbs. Once live, the local community will have access to integrated oncology services at the one location, including a state-of-the art linear accelerator machine at GenesisCare’s clinic that is expected to deliver radiation therapy treatment to around 500 patients each year.”

GenesisCare Consumer Representative and former patient, John, from the western suburbs of Adelaide said: “I’m pleased to see GenesisCare developing its services in the east, and adding to its other centres in the north, south and west of Adelaide, as well as the CBD. The local community is lucky to have such fantastic, caring people setting up this centre in Toorak Gardens. It will allow people who need help to access care close to home, which is so important.”

Attending the site visit, City of Burnside Mayor Anne Monceaux said: “It is exciting to see the contribution that GenesisCare will make to the users of this enhanced new facility. This facility will provide significantly improved access for patients needing cancer treatment in our local community. Thanks to them, our community will have the latest in radiation therapy available and this is expected to cater for more than 500 patients per year when it opens in 2028. Thank you to GenesisCare for their quality oncology services that they will bring to the City of Burnside.”
