Meet the team members supporting your cancer treatment at GenesisCare.
Who is in your cancer care team?
Your GenesisCare care team
Your core care team at GenesisCare leads and delivers your treatment. These are the clinicians and support staff directly involved in planning, managing and providing your cancer care.
Your care team may include:1-2

| Radiation oncologist | Leads your care if you receive radiation therapy. A specialist doctor who prescribes, plans and oversees your treatment. |
| Radiation therapist | Plans and delivers your radiation treatment based on the radiation oncologist’s prescription. |
| Medical physicist | Ensures radiation equipment is safe, accurate and treatment plans are delivered precisely. |
| Oncology surgeon | Performs cancer-related surgery, including tumour removal and biopsies when required. |
| Medical oncologist | Leads your care if you receive chemotherapy, immunotherapy or targeted therapy. |
| Oncology nurse | Supports you throughout treatment, including side effect management and general care. |
| Patient Services Officer (PSO) | Provides administrative and coordination support for patients, clinicians and support staff. |
Support services by referral
In addition to your GenesisCare clinical team, we can connect you with a range of specialised support services delivered by external providers. These services are available through referral to support your care during and after treatment.
You may also be supported by allied health and wellbeing professionals, including:

| Dietitian | Provides dietary advice and recommendations to support you during treatment and recovery. |
| Speech pathologist | Assists with communication and swallowing difficulties during treatment and recovery. |
| Social worker | Supports emotional wellbeing and helps with practical, social and financial concerns. |
| Occupational therapist | Helps you adapt activities at home and work to support independence during and after treatment. |
| Psychologist / counsellor | Supports emotional and psychological wellbeing from diagnosis through to after treatment. |
| Physiotherapist / exercise physiologist | Supports physical function, mobility, strength and fitness during and after treatment. |
| Lymphoedema practitioner | Provides treatment for lymphoedema and education on prevention and long-term management. |
Supporting you at every step
Your treatment team works together to support you at every stage of care. If you have questions at any point, your care team can explain your treatment, help manage side effects, and connect you with additional support services when needed.

Cancer treatment can feel daunting, and it’s normal to have questions or feel unsure about what to ask your care team. These questions are designed to guide conversations with your treatment team and help you understand the next steps ahead.
