Biography

Clinical interest in blood disorders and general Haematology, with a focus on malignant Haematology.

Dr Victoria Pechey graduated from the UNSW medical school in 2003 with honours. She undertook prevocational and physician training at Royal North Shore Hospital.

She has completed Haematology training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia in 2014 based at Royal North Shore Hospital but did her final year of advanced training in the UK and then worked as a consultant haematologist there. She completed a fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Royal North Shore Hospital and since then has worked as a Staff Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital.

She has worked at the Northern Clinical School of the University of Sydney as a senior lecturer in medical education and has ongoing teaching activities. She is also a VMO at Northern Beaches Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

Dr Pechey has been involved in a number of research projects in specific areas, and the main focus of her career is her clinical work and education. She has a broad interest in general haematology with a focus on malignant haematology, but also benign haematology, thrombosis and bleeding disorders and pregnancy related haematological issues.
