Specialised centre for integrated cancer care - gateway to all your cancer services
GenesisCare, St Leonards is an integrated cancer centre located in the North Shore Health Hub. We offer treatments including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, haematology, theranostics, clinical trials (where appropriate), and allied health services – all within the Royal North Shore Hospital campus.
Our consult suites and chemotherapy, immunotherapy, theranostics and haematology treatment areas, along with the pharmacy, are located on Level 1. Radiation therapy facilities are located on Level 2.
Your care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experienced healthcare professionals, including radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, haematologists, Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs), registered nurses, radiation therapists, physicists, and dedicated support staff.
Our North Shore Health Hub location enables us to partner with a range of providers and act as a gateway to your cancer services, supporting you throughout your treatment journey.
Our treatments and services
Radiation oncology
Radiation therapy may be used in early-stage cancer or after cancer has spread.
Techniques available at GenesisCare, St Leonards include:
- Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH)
- External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT)
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR)
- Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
As well as Palliative Radiation Therapy.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy uses medication, given orally or by injection, to kill cancer cells or slow their growth and spread. It may be used alongside other treatments.
Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy is a type of treatment that is intended to help your own immune system fight cancer. There are different types of immunotherapy for cancer that work in different ways.
Theranostics
Theranostics combines diagnostic imaging and targeted treatment to detect and treat certain cancers..
Haematology
Haematology focuses on conditions affecting the blood and related organs, including blood cancers. Care may include treatment for bleeding disorders, chemotherapy, and referral to other specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Sydney Brain Tumour Clinic
The Sydney Brain Tumour Clinic was established in 2013 to support patients with brain tumours seeking advice on management and care. In August 2021, the clinic moved to GenesisCare, St Leonards. It brings together resources and works with neurosurgeons across NSW.
Clinical trials
At GenesisCare, we are committed to improving cancer care through clinical trials. Our St Leonards team may offer access to the GenesisCare global network of trials. Speak with your treating doctor for more information.
Allied health services
Our location at the North Shore Health Hub allows us to collaborate closely with a range of cancer support services, enabling coordinated care through a streamlined referral process. Support services may include:

- Acupuncture & TCM
Exercise Therapy
You may be referred to Cancer Fit Australia to support exercise and wellness during treatment.

Free WiFi access available at this centre.
Free patient underground parking is available onsite and provided through Wilson Parking B2.
Should there be no spaces available there is metered parking or parking in surrounding streets. North Shore Private Hospital has parking in the multi-story car park.
The nearest train station is St Leonards and there are several bus stops on either Reserve Road (adjacent to the roundabout between Royal North Shore Hospital and Gore Hill Oval) and on the Pacific Highway. The closest metro station is Crows Nest which is an approximately 15–20-minute walk.
