Dr Laurence Kim is a dedicated Radiation Oncologist and educator committed to advancing cancer care and training in South Australia.
Dr Kim graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2010. He completed his Radiation Oncology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and was awarded his FRANZCR in 2018.
Following his specialist training, Dr Kim served as the Bragg Fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for six months, before undertaking a Clinical and Research Fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Canada (2018–2019). During this time, he worked alongside world-leading researchers and clinicians, contributing to numerous protocol developments and research initiatives.
In 2019, Dr Kim returned to Adelaide as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist with GenesisCare. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he holds the role of Director of Trainees at Flinders Medical Centre, where he mentors and supports the next generation of oncologists and radiation specialists.
Dr Kim has been, and continues to be, actively involved in the development of both national and departmental protocols, with a particular focus on advancing new treatment techniques. This includes work on pancreatic stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and kidney SABR, helping to expand treatment options and improve patient outcomes.
He is also a strong advocate for radiation oncology and is passionate about improving awareness of, and access to, radiotherapy within the cancer community.
