Biography
Clinical interest in Skin, Lung, Gastrointestinal, Brain and Spine Cancers as well as Haematology, Hepatobiliary, Palliation and Stereotactic Radiotherapy.
Dr Ian Porter completed his undergraduate medical degree at The University of Queensland and subsequently his FRANZCR Fellowship in Radiation Oncology at the Queensland Radium Institute and The William Buckland Radiotherapy Centre at Alfred Health in Melbourne.
He has provided a consultation Radiation Oncology service at Cabrini Malvern and Brighton. He is the inaugural Director of Radiation Oncology at Cabrini Health with a team of Radiation Technologists, Medical Physicists and Radiation Oncology Nurses. He is an Honorary Radiation Oncologist at Alfred Health.
Ian was the first in Australian to use adaptive radiation therapy to target organs that move. He is a trials investigator with the Australasian TROG research group. He is a NHMRC Associate Investigator and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University, He is a member of ESTRO, ASTRO and The Radiosurgery Society group.
