Clinical interests in head and neck, breast, gastrointestinal, palliative radiation therapy, urological, and skin malignancies as well as benign conditions such as Dupuytren's Contracture.

Dr Connell is a graduate of Flinders University of South Australia and completed her Radiation Oncology training at the Royal Adelaide and Alfred Hospitals (Melbourne) in 2004, achieving the Kaye Scott Prize in the Fellowship Examination. She completed a fellowship year in Head and Neck Cancer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, publishing research on the management of head and neck cancer using FDG PET technology.

She spent two years treating urological malignancies in Oxford, UK, before taking up her position at Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre in 2009 (now part of GenesisCare).

She is actively involved in the education of radiotherapy registrars and attends regular multidisciplinary team meetings where cancer cases are discussed with other specialist colleagues, aiming to develop an individualised treatment approach. She is an active member of the GenesisCare National Head and Neck Expert Advisory Group and co-chair of the St Andrews Head and Neck, as well as the Flinders Private Breast and Urology Multidisciplinary Meetings.

Based at Flinders Private Hospital, Tennyson Centre, and South Terrace centres, she consults both private and public patients and manages all oncological and benign conditions amenable to radiotherapy. She is involved in recruiting patients to clinical trials both within GenesisCare and in conjunction with the Flinders Medical Centre Cancer Centre, offering patients access to the modern advances in oncological practice. A further clinical interest is the management of benign conditions such as Dupuytren's disease.
