GenesisCare marks five years of cancer care in the Nedlands community
Nedlands, Perth – GenesisCare is marking five years of service at its radiation therapy centre in Nedlands, a cancer care clinic that brings more healthcare options closer to home for patients in the western suburbs of Perth.
GenesisCare WA Medical Director and Radiation Oncologist, Associate Professor Yvonne Zissiadis said: “As we celebrate five years of service at GenesisCare Nedlands, I’m deeply proud of the patients we’ve supported across Nedlands and the wider western suburbs. It’s a privilege to walk alongside our community through some of their most challenging moments, and this milestone is a testament to the trust they place in us every day,” said Associate Professor Zissiadis.
“This is a celebration of our small but deeply committed team of oncologists, nurses, radiation therapists and patient services staff. They go above and beyond for our patients, many of whom they know on a first-name basis - a true reflection of the personalised and high-quality cancer care that we strive to deliver every day.”
GenesisCare patient David, from the western suburbs said: “I have only admiration and gratitude for the highly trained, delightful and deeply humane professionals working at GenesisCare in Nedlands. The centre is close to my home and I already knew the building landmarks due to living in the area. It could be underestimated by many, but a sense of familiarity with the centre was valuable to me, even if it just made getting there and parking easier. Congratulations to GenesisCare for building such a warm and welcoming team.”
Located within Hollywood Private Hospital, GenesisCare’s radiation therapy service is closely coordinated with the hospital’s cancer care services and gives patients access to a range of oncology treatments under the one roof, reducing the need to commute between locations for appointments.
GenesisCare in Nedlands provides access to clinical trials for eligible patients and collaborates with the Harry Perkins Centre for Medical Research on breast cancer research. The therapy dog program is also popular amongst patients, providing comfort and support during their treatment journey.
