Biography
Clinical interest in Oncology
Dr. Yoon graduated from UNSW in 2014 (BMed/MD) and completed his FRACP in medical oncology in 2022 following training at Liverpool, Macarthur and Southern Highland Cancer Centres. He currently works as a medical oncologist at Southern Highland Cancer Centre. His clinical interests are in gastrointestinal, lung and breast cancers.
Concurrently, Dr. Yoon is completing his PhD in stomach and oesophagus cancers through Western Sydney University. He is also a clinical lecturer at Blacktown Clinical School as he shares his expertise in oncology with the future generation of doctors. He has been involved as an investigator in over 40 phase 1-3 clinical trials. His research findings have been showcased in leading international oncology conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Yoon enjoys physical pursuits such as bouldering and marathon running, alongside caring for his beloved dog Cino.

Dr. Yoon’s research is focused on translational science dedicated to identifying biomarkers to better forecast responses to chemotherapy and immunotherapy in stomach and oesophagus cancers. He is affiliated with the medical oncology group at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research and Western Sydney University.
