Dr Mei Chan is a medical oncologist who completed her medical degree at the University of Manchester, followed by internship training in the United Kingdom before relocating to Adelaide. She undertook specialist training in medical oncology across several major metropolitan hospitals in South Australia and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2024.
Dr Chan further advanced her clinical and research expertise through a fellowship at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she focused on gastrointestinal cancer research and was actively involved in early-phase clinical trials aimed at advancing oncology care. She remains engaged in research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications, and contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
Dr Chan embraces a holistic approach to cancer care. She finds deep fulfilment in supporting patients and their families throughout the cancer journey, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs. She treats a broad range of solid tumour malignancies.
She consults privately at St Andrews Medical Centre and holds a public appointment at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Clinical interests
Mei's main areas of interest include gastrointestinal cancers (including bowel, stomach, oesophageal, and pancreatic cancer), breast cancer, and lung cancer.
