Biography
Clinical interests in lung, primary and metastatic brain cancers, and palliative radiation therapy.
Prof Hau completed his medical degrees at UNSW and subsequently undertook his radiation oncology training at St George, Westmead, and Nepean Hospitals. He then pursued further postgraduate fellowship training at St George Hospital, focusing on lung and brain cancers.
He received an NHMRC Scholarship to complete a PhD at the Lowy Cancer Research Centre (UNSW), focusing on the treatment of brain cancers, and further developed his clinical research training by graduating from the Global Clinical Scholars Research Program at Harvard Medical School.
Throughout his career, Prof Hau has been recognised for his keen interest in improving patient care and research, with numerous awards.
Prof Hau also works as a specialist radiation oncologist at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals.
He teaches medical students at both the University of Sydney and Western Sydney University, is a director of training for radiation oncology trainees at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals, is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology, and is a Clinical Professor at the University of Sydney. He also leads an active clinical and basic science laboratory research program.
Prof Hau is passionate about offering high-quality, supportive, and evidence-based care to his patients.
