Biography
Clinical interests in lung and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
A/Prof Deme Karikios is a college accredited medical oncologist with an appointment as a staff specialist at Nepean Hospital. In 2019 he was awarded his PhD titled: Consequences of rising anticancer drug costs in Australia.
A/Prof Karikios' clinical interests include gastrointestinal (GI) and thoracic malignancies, with additional areas of interest being the value of anticancer drugs, treatment decision making, and financial toxicity.
He hopes to positively influence health policy relating to cancer care and is dedicated to the supervision of medical oncology trainees, research students, and education of medical students.
