GenesisCare Albury-Wodonga Celebrates Radiation Therapists and Honours 25 Years of Service by Nick Bowles

Albury-Wodonga, 3 November 2025 – GenesisCare Albury-Wodonga is proud to join the nationwide celebration of National Radiographers and Radiation Therapists’ Week, running from 3–9 November 2025. This year’s theme, “Meet the Person Behind Your Care,” shines a spotlight on the dedicated professionals who deliver vital cancer care to the local community.

At GenesisCare Albury-Wodonga, the national awareness week provides an opportunity to recognise the contributions of its 21 radiation therapists who play a key role in the delivery of radiation therapy to patients in the region.

Radiation therapy uses radiation to destroy cancer cells and is an effective treatment for many cancer types1. Modelling suggests that around half of Australians (48.3%) diagnosed with cancer would benefit from radiation therapy2.

This week, the team at GenesisCare Albury-Wodonga are recognising Nick Bowles, Unit Leader and Radiation Therapist and his 25 years of service with the cancer care provider. Based at GenesisCare’s service within the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre, Nick has been instrumental in delivering personalised cancer treatment to patients from across the border region for two decades.
