Dr Hari Adoni is a Respiratory and Sleep physician. He studied medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India. He worked as a resident in United Kingdom before moving to Perth, Australia. He completed Basic Physician training at the Royal Perth Hospital in Perth and Advanced training in Respiratory medicine at The Canberra Hospital in Canberra.

He completed specialist Sleep medicine training at the West Australian Sleep Disorders and Research Institute. Dr Adoni has also undertaken further training in Interventional Pulmonology and cystic fibrosis at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Dr Adoni’s special interests are Lung Cancer, Asthma, COPD, General Respiratory Medicine, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Sleep Disordered Breathing.

Dr Scott Claxton completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Tasmania and his advanced training in respiratory medicine in Perth, at both Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Since receiving his FRACP in 2003, Dr. Claxton has worked at Joondalup Health Campus as a consultant respiratory physician, doing a combination of clinic and hospital-based work. Dr Claxton’s work is equally divided between sleep disorders and general lung diseases, including asthma, pneumonia, smoking related lung disease and lung cancer.

Dr Claxton’s special interests are Breathing Disorders of Sleep; COPD; General Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Disorders.

Dr Cheng Long Lu graduated from the University of Melbourne. He has Fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine as well as General and Acute Medicine. He also works Joondalup Health Campus, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital.

Dr Lu’s special interests include complex respiratory diseases, sleep disorders, endobronchial ultrasound, airway disease and general respiratory medicine.

Dr Sumit Mehra completed his initial medical degree (MBBS, MD) in India from King George Medical University, before moving to Australia in 2012. He completed his respiratory training at Flinders medical Centre, Adelaide where he had experience in wide facets of lung disorders (Asthma, ILD, Pulmonary embolism etc.). He then undertook Clinical Fellowship in lung cancer and pleural diseases at the Flinders Medical Centre. He also specialised in sleep medicine, and pulmonary physiology at WASDRI, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, which is renowned nationally in the field. He has also done training in respiratory failure at St. George Hospital, Sydney and at Sleep centres of Western New York, USA. In addition, he has done interventional pulmonology and allergy asthma training in Bolnisnica Golnik, Slovenia and have completed Certificate of Recognition of Competency in Thoracic Ultrasound (TSANZ).

Dr Sumit is committed to provide comprehensive care in all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine. He has a particular interest in the areas of airways disease, chronic cough, lung cancer, asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, complex sleep disordered breathing, and non-respiratory sleep disorders. Dr Sumit offers a range of services, including diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, EBUS, comprehensive inpatient and home-based sleep studies, implementation of positive airway pressure therapy and full range of lung function testing modalities.

Dr Sumit Mehra is an award-winning researcher with 40 publications till date in major indexed journals including SLEEP, PGMJ (BMJ), Nature and science of sleep, International journal of COPD etc and have won several research awards. He also serves as reviewer and editorial board member to major international respiratory journals and has been involved in development of key respiratory guidelines.

Dr Antonius Steven completed his undergraduate training at the University of Melbourne and basic physician training at Royal Perth Hospital. He completed his advanced training in respiratory and sleep medicine at both John Hunter Hospital, NSW and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, WA. Dr Steven has also undertaken a research fellowship in lung cancer immunology and immunotherapy at the UWA School of Medicine and Pharmacology, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Dr Steven’s special interests are Sleep Breathing Disorders, General Respiratory Medicine and Lung Cancer.

He is currently based in the South West and is working with Genesis Sleep and Respiratory Care in the area of sleep disorders and general respiratory medicine.
