Experience the power of memory
This multi-sensory artwork installation captures a powerful mix of memories glioblastoma (GB) patients have made with their loved ones following their diagnosis, showing how human connections have helped them navigate this challenging new chapter in their lives.
The launch of the Memory Bank installation follows a new piece of research from GenesisCare, unveiling memory loss as patients biggest fear at the time of diagnosis, and their new priority in life is to make the most of every single day. Both the Memory Bank installation and the world-class treatment options available at GenesisCare are empowering patients to hold onto these new memories.

Hope through innovation
Glioblastoma remains one of the most challenging cancers to treat, affecting over 3,200 people in the UK each year.
The GenesisCare research, which investigated the impact of a glioblastoma diagnosis and our awareness of it, showed two in ten people are not aware speed of access to treatment is vital and in many circumstances life critical.
Many patients are most concerned about memory loss (16%), but they also worry about missing out on everyday special moments with loved ones (12%). Additionally, 12% fear losing the ability to do simple household tasks like making tea or using the oven. Other concerns include losing important parts of daily life that shape their identity, such as sight (12%), movement (8%), and independence (8%).
At GenesisCare, we’re continually investing in breakthrough technologies to bring hope, protect quality of life, and empower people to keep making meaningful memories with loved ones throughout their cancer journey. As Professor Puneet Plaha, Director of Neuro-oncology at GenesisCare puts it, “Our goal is to preserve quality of life, because when patients can live well through treatment, it supports both wellbeing and outcomes.”

Featuring Siva Kaneswaran, from boy band, The Wanted
GenesisCare patients Ed and Steve, together with Siva Kaneswaran from The Wanted - who leads the GenesisCare campaign after losing his friend and bandmate Tom Parker to glioblastoma—are sharing their personal stories as part of the GenesisCare Memory Bank Installation.
Siva tells us “I know from personal experience that supporting a loved one following a glioblastoma diagnosis can be really overwhelming and while the long-term prognosis is not good, it’s so important to harness the power of hope and a positive mindset after diagnosis. This is especially the case with the growing provision of world class treatments and care now available which can help protect the parts of the brain that make you, you. What I love most about this campaign is it’s all about prioritising precious human interactions and connections and making every moment count.”
“The Memory Bank multi-sensory art installation packs a powerful punch as it captures and celebrates the very essence of what makes us who we are. It helps those affected to value the moment and ‘bank’ precious new memories, shared with loved ones and to make the most of every day.”

Every Moment Matters
At GenesisCare, we believe in care which goes beyond treatment - care that protects who you are, what you love, and the memories you create along the way.
We use sophisticated techniques such as fMRI, and Optune Gio to provide exceptional care overseen by leading neuro-oncologists.
Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a non-invasive and painless imaging technique that measures and maps brain activity by detecting changes in blood flow, helping to understand areas of the brain that control functions such as speech, movement, vision and memory. Neurosurgeons use this information to carefully plan surgery, ensuring they know what functions are being impacted by the tumour and how to ensure these are protected as much as possible.
Optune Gio, a non-invasive therapy worn by patients, that uses electrical currents to slow tumour growth while allowing patients to maintain their everyday routines and independence.
