Stephen Tannenbaum

Stephen Tannenbaum, M.D. attended Brown University in Providence Rhode Island and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biomedical Ethics. He then studied medicine and received his Medical Degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York. Dr. Tannenbaum continued his training in surgery and completed a residency and internship in general surgery at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He also completed his residency in Urology at Tuft’s University and Medical Center. Tuft’s is a world class academic medical center and is the principal teaching hospital for Tuft’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Tannenbaum moved to South Florida in 2000 and joined Uromedix where he continues to practice innovative and ground-breaking medicine for his patients. Dr. Tannenbaum pioneered the Laparoscopic surgery (for kidney tumors and varioceles), the DaVinci Robotic surgery (for prostate and kidney cancers), and the Cryosurgery (for prostate cancer) programs at Uromedix. He maintains the largest experience of these cutting edge procedures at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida. Dr. Tannenbaum also started the Transuretheral Microwave Thermotherapy for Benign Enlargement of the Prostate and he initiated the Niagra Green light Laser treatment program (for BPH) at Uromedix. As a urologist, Dr. Tannenbaum performs and teaches pelvic reconstructive surgery and treats patients with urinary dysfunction, incontinence and impotence using the most modern techniques and procedures. Dr. Tannenbaum also manages kidney stones using the latest lasers, the Holmium, shockwaves and percutaneous approaches. He believes in performing complete metabolic and dietary evaluations which help patients get the optimal benefits from their treatment plan.
