Sean Cavanaugh, MD, earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He completed his internship (General Pediatrics) and residency (Radiation Oncology) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Before joining GenesisCare, Dr. Cavanaugh saw patients at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, Georgia, where he launched a Brachytherapy program and chaired the hospital's Prostate Center for Advanced Oncology and Prostate steering committee. Dr. Cavanaugh worked in private practice for seven years in Texas and Georgia.
