Our breast service is led by a team of experienced consultants and is designed around rapid access pathways that cover every stage and all modalities from early detection to advanced therapies. This includes a same-day, triple diagnostic assessment service for people concerned about their breasts with seamless progression from comprehensive diagnosis to breast cancer treatment if needed.
Our clinical protocols are based on the best practice of centres of excellence across the world and include advanced and innovative techniques as standard, alongside modern therapeutic approaches. Together with a growing healthcare professional community in the UK, we are implementing these evidence-based treatment protocols across our network of specialist outpatient oncology centres and designing new ways to improve patient outcomes.

How to refer
Refer to a One Stop Breast Clinic
Flexible appointments from 24 hours. Find your nearest GenesisCare centre for more information about our specialist outpatient cancer services that are available on-site or at partner hospitals.

If a biopsy is required, the results will be made available within five days of the biopsy at a follow-up appointment with the consultant. A copy of these results will also be shared with the patient’s GP.
All biopsy results are discussed at a GenesisCare Breast Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, which includes surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists where treatment plans are discussed and appropriate action is agreed.
If no evidence of breast cancer is found, the results are discussed with the patient in detail together with any advice or reassurances. If the biopsy does show the presence of a cancer, we are able to discuss with the patient the next steps required to move towards appropriate treatment.
Seamless access to a comprehensive diagnostic pathway
Following a positive diagnosis at a One Stop Breast Clinic, our rapid access pathways include all diagnostic modalities, including MRI and PET/CT as required, to allow us to make decisions with the patient about potential treatment pathways, and to start that treatment in the most timely manner.
The aim of this multi-modality approach is to ensure prompt diagnosis and commencement of treatment – optimising the outcome for every patient following their cancer diagnosis.
We are ready to start treatment immediately
We provide fast access to our comprehensive cancer treatment pathways, with treatment often starting within days of diagnosis. We will seamlessly arrange surgery and acute admissions at our partner hospitals where needed to ensure a continuous patient experience. Our centres offer many advanced radiotherapy techniques, private chemotherapy suites and all chemo and radiotherapy patients are offered wellbeing therapies such as acupuncture and counselling, through the Penny Brohn UK charity, and exercise medicine at no additional cost to the insurer or the patient – all under the care of a consultant oncologist.
