Dr Natasha Mithal

Clinical Oncologist

Special clinical interest in breast cancer.

Dr Mithal trained in clinical oncology at the Royal London Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital spending time working in radiobiology research.

She was appointed as a Consultant in East Kent in 1997 initially treating most cancer sub-types, particularly breast and urological malignancies before settling on breast practice.

Dr Mithal has a strong background in medical education and has been, at various times, a College Tutor/Educational Supervisor and Training Programme Director.

Dr Mithal is interested in mentorship, training of allied medical professionals and team working and has been involved with the innovative expansion of associated team members.

Dr Mithal’s NHS clinical base is in East Kent with clinics in Canterbury and Ashford.

Research interests

Dr Mithal is the Principal Investigator (PI) for most breast cancer clinical trials in East Kent with a portfolio of National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) badged studies for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She has also been instrumental in building up a strong research team over the last 20 years.
