Special clinical interests in structural heart disease procedures (TAVR / TAVI and MitraClip) and percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary stents).
Dr Anthony Camuglia is an interventional cardiologist who joined GenesisCare in 2014 after returning from Canada where he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at London Health Sciences Centre, Western University, Canada. Prior to this and after completing medical school at Monash University with first class honours he trained at The Alfred Hospital Melbourne, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane.
He has a special interest in the minimally invasive treatment of valvular heart disease and in cooperation with his colleagues helped to establish the percutaneous heart valve programs at The Wesley Hospital Brisbane (TAVI / TAVR and MitraClip) and Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane (TAVI / TAVR). He is a member of the Australian Cardiac Outcomes Registry (ACOR) steering committee for TAVR / TAVI and chair of the Queensland Cardiovascular Outcomes Registry (QCOR) structural heart disease sub-committee. Anthony also holds a staff specialist appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is senior lecturer with the University of Queensland.
He lives in Brisbane with his wife and four children. Anthony consults from and performs procedures at both Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and The Wesley Hospital.
