Associate Professor Piyush Srivastava undertook his Cardiology training in Melbourne, and then undertook a Fellowship at Austin Health in non-invasive Cardiac Imaging. Piyush has a wide range of interests within Cardiology, and is committed to the training and development of future generations of physicians in addition to his senior public appointment with Austin Health. A widely published clinical researcher, Piyush holds a Clinical Associate Professor position at the University of Melbourne, and supervises Cardiology Fellows as well as PhD candidates across a number of centres. Piyush has also been appointed Honorary Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne, with almost a hundred publications in highly regarded peer reviewed journals from around the world. Dr Srivastava’s areas of special clinical interest and ongoing research include valvular heart disease, heart failure, diabetic cardiovascular disease, and all aspects of non-invasive cardiac imaging including stress, trans thoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography as well as Cardiac MRI/CT.
