Dr Lauren Galt studied undergraduate Biomedical Science at the University of Melbourne, before moving to Brisbane to study Medicine. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010. Her training in Thoracic Medicine was undertaken at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and the Princess Alexandra (PA) Hospitals. In 2017, Dr Galt worked at the RBWH, with a focus on Interventional Bronchoscopy. In 2018 Dr Galt completed her Sleep fellowship at the RBWH and is adept at managing patients with complex sleep disorders, neuromuscular disease, and respiratory failure. Dr Leanne Gauld graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1993. She undertook her intern year at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, before beginning her General Paediatric training. Leanne completed her General Paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne. While completing this training, she began sub-specialty training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Monash Medical Centre and Sydney Children’s Hospital. Her first consultant job was at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead where she worked as the Acting Director of the Sleep Unit for 2 years. Maurice graduated from the University of Queensland in 1972 with a MBBS and was admitted to the Fellow College of Chest Physicians in 1982 and as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1996. He has a special interest and extensive experience in Intensive Care Units (ICU) having formed the ICU Committees and founded “Modern” ICUs in Brisbane. Dr Heiner underwent extensive Respiratory and Sleep training in Australia, Canada and the US and holds licences to work in all three countries. He is a founding member of the Asbestosis Research Group (Wesley Research Institute), Advocated Advisor to the Department of Veteran Affairs and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Bond University.

Dr Amy Reynolds is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician. She graduated with MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2005. Her respiratory training was completed at a number of hospitals in South East Queensland including Gold Coast Hospital, Mater Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Reynolds achieved her FRACP in 2016. Her interest areas include bronchiectasis and sleep medicine, which prompted her to complete 2 additional fellowships years. She worked as the Cystic Fibrosis Fellow at The Prince Charles Hospital in 2016 and as the Sleep Fellow at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital/GenesisCare in 2017.

Dr Reynolds enjoys managing patients with a variety of sleep disorders. She has a particular interest in the management of sleep apnoea during pregnancy. Her research interests have included the investigation of factors associated with CPAP compliance and she has been involved in GP education relating to optimisation of CPAP therapy.

Dr Alex Ritchie graduated class Valedictorian from the University of Queensland in 2004, receiving the University Medal for Medicine. He completed Thoracic Medicine training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and then a Sleep Fellowship at The Prince Charles Hospital in 2013. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians he completed a year long Clinical Research Fellowship at the British Columbia Cancer Agency, based in Vancouver.

Dr Ritchie is available for consultation in general thoracic medicine and has a special interest in the early diagnosis of lung cancer, lung cancer screening and lung nodule evaluation. He is a skilled bronchoscopist, with extensive training in endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).

In addition to his interest in thoracic oncology, Dr Ritchie provides consultation to help clinicians and patients with the comprehensive evaluation and management of the broad range of respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders. In particular, he is experienced in the management of sleep disorders that complicate a range of cardiac disorders and respiratory disease.

Tom was awarded his undergraduate degree in physiotherapy in 2005, before working as a respiratory physiotherapist in Brisbane and London.  He went on to study Medicine, and graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with honours. Tom trained in thoracic medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), Greenslopes Private Hospital (GPH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH).

Tom is a well-rounded practitioner with a broad range of skills across all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine.  His particular respiratory interests include: COPD, asthma, lung cancer, unexplained breathlessness and cough, and pleural disease.  He has trained in interventional bronchoscopy and is adept in both radial and convex EBUS and cryobiopsy.
